Description
Director-star Jack Nicholson portrays Henry Lloyd Moon, a nomadic cad in 1870s Kansas, spared from the hangman’s noose by marrying spinster Julie Tate (Mary Steenburgen, in her film debut). A love-hate relationship blossoms between them as she insists he earn his keep by working her ranch’s mine before the land is seized for the construction of a railroad.
