Achaean Javelinmen

Description

While Achaean Javalinmen could be employed as light infantry, skirmishers and even chariot runners, these shield-armed soldiers are more likely to be employed as medium infantry, bearing the brunt of fighting alongside the spearmen and perhaps the axe-armed Royal Guard. The Achaean or Mycenaean Greeks of the early Aegean city-states were dominant in the region from the collapse of Minoan civilisation to the end of the Bronze Age. They, therefore, thrived alongside the Hittites and the New Kingdom Egyptians.
