Although categorized as a country singer, Ford transcended the genre & could bring his warm tenor voice to bear on any kind of material he chose, whether up-tempo boogie songs or slower ballads. In 1951 he had his biggest hit to date with “The Shot-Gun Boogie,” heard here along with hits like “Mule Train” & “I’ll Never Be Free” (duet with Kay Starr). Also included on this 25 track compilation is the classic rocking “Country Junction” & “Smoky Mountain Boogie.” Contains titles never before released on CD. OMIT-3/4/08-Capitol
